The Gang's All Here

Marc Hayes owes so much to so many people that he'll be paying us back for several lifetimes.

I don't even know where to start. Should I mention all the time Conor and I wasted searching Biirkma for him? With the dense population, locating one energy signature out of so many was difficult even if he is human.

Do I mention that Alzbeta is now exiled from all contact with the dark demons because she helped Marc carry out his vengeance? She would have been shunned anyway because demon females are not supposed to mate with anyone from a branch weaker than theirs, and Marc is human which is even worse.

How about the fact that McCabe came this close to being seriously hurt while defending Marc? If anything had happened to Conor, I swear Hayes would have learned the true meaning of revenge. Luckily, Nic showed up in time.

Yes, add my brother to the list of people Hayes owes. Nic arrived like the cavalry, complete with reinforcements. He had to call in many favors to round up the army he had in tow, so it's not only Nic that Marc is indebted too. Bet he hates knowing that dozens of demons are the only reason we're all still alive.

Then there's my dad. Marc, that idiot, refused to leave Orcus without Alzbeta. Loyalty is a good thing, but what he should have done was leave the Other World when Conor told him to do so. It would have been easier for Alzbeta to remain hidden while I contacted my dad to do a summoning than it was for Hayes and Alzbeta. Because he's human anyone who stumbled into the vicinity would detect him and wonder over it. But no, Marc refused to cross the veil without her. Convincing my dad to pull a Dark One out of Orcus wasn't easy, but he did it--eventually.

At the end of all this mess, I asked Marc the one question I'm sure he didn't want to hear: Did it make the loss of his sister any easier to bear now that he'd killed those who were responsible for her death?

He didn't answer me, but he doesn't have to--we both know the truth.

Well, I get to be the first one to comment.....

(How wish I had a shrieking letter like in Harry Potter*grin* settle for imagining my tone.)
Marc Hayes! How dare you endanger so many lives?! I understand love and blood bonds more than I did before you took off to Orcus but you should still have let someone know you are alive! Imagine how worried everyone was for you! I know you are used to being a recluse but guess what you have a lot more people who care for you than before!(Next time you see me in town I don't expect you to glare at me...*batting eyelashes* are you trying to hurt my feelings) DON'T DO IT AGAIN! *This is where I would hug you and not let go* THANK GOD YOU ARE ALL SAFE!!! I expect to meet Alzbeta ...SOON!
Conor and Mika!!! I some have big news for you Mika, when life settles down and you are ready, that is. I AM THRILLED you both are okay! Thank you for coming out of this thing alive!

CF/Red
PS- Although we know that his sister's death isn't any easier friends will help his wounded heart. Thankfully Hayes has the love of a demon to help him heal (sorry Alzbeta for being so harsh but Marc's worth the worry).

I don't want to talk about Marc right now, CF. He's on his own until the memory of how close I came to losing Conor fades a little. For now, I'm just holding my mate and enjoying the beat of his heart beneath my hand.

If I hug you and Connor the next time I see you you'll both have to forgive me. Well I'll hug Mika. Doubt Connor would let me hug him but you both gave me quite a fright. Enjoy eachother and thrilled you both are safe!

If you want to hug me, it's Mika's reaction you better worry about. Demons are very territorial about their mates.

He's joking, CF. I thought I'd point that out because McCabe is not funny.

Does this mean you're going to start acting normal? Because I gotta tell you, honey, the way you've been indulging me is getting old. I like it best when you're being you.

I'll hug both of you at the same time that way there is no territorial issues for either one of you. ;-) I may have tapped into a few secrets of my own, but I know it would be no match for either of you, so I'de prefer to keep my lovely head. :-)

(PS I agree Mika's more fun when she's acting normal.)

Try to show a man how much he means to you, and this is all the appreciation I get. But McCabe, it means a lot to me that you love me the way I am. I hope I showed you just how much. ;-)

Now, CF, you can't drop an intriguing sentence or two into your conversation and not explain. Start talking, girl! And while you're dishing, what's been going on in Crimson City while we've been away?

Damn glad to know everyone got out. Marc, I'd watch my ass for a while if I were you. A lot of people care about you but those same people are now royally pissed off. Glad you're back though. Would have hated to have seen any of you come through my "office" if there was even anything left to be there.

Ven,

There were moments when I thought one or more of us might be making the trip to "your office." (Provided we made it through the veil at all.) Hayes is an idiot.

Aslet's going to be a daddy & binding rituals seem to be a popular subject in this city. Some convert is missing and the ever so sexy Korzah(yes I know..not single and a fang..not my type anymore..but sexy none-the-less) is threatening to rip hearts out for the love of his new family. Siiiiggghhhh...wow she's a luck gal!

Hmm...me...oh its nothing big. Just Vene's my new best buddy in this town and she's keeping my wolf happy with his twisted side. Which in turn keeps me happily alive. (Sigh, I know, what do I see in that delicious, hot, freak? -- He's obnoxious, won't make any promises, has necro-issues, but he's hot, is very territorial about me, and um well....I'm bound to him through blood now.)

See what happens when you disappear McCabe? Humans run amuck *wink*.

Oh and only one tiny little thing that mom broke to me. Its trivial, not really worth sharing, doubt either of you are going to pay much attention... I am sort of ...well kind of .... half demon..my mom was. Don't know the branch but I am told she was a darker bloodline. So, can demons be affected by a wolf bite? Guess the full moon will prove it.

Ven is right Marc, you are so on a shit list with me. First you glare at me, then you endanger all of your lives, then you have the audacity to not show your face on here and explain. Relieved you are safe but all of you....Don't ever disappear again!

So now that you know you're part demon, how do you feel about it? Have you explored what your powers are yet? That's something you need to learn and control so that you don't inadvertantly hurt someone.

From firsthand experience, I can tell you--as will Conor--that it's not easy to be a human/demon mix. If you need to talk, you know where to find us.

So Aslet and his human have worked things out. Just wait, McCabe will try to take credit for this, when obviously it was my plan that set things in the right direction. Males!

Yes, what do you see in wolf boy? I've never quite grasped that. I still don't think he treats you right. If McCabe tried to pull even a fraction of what that dog has-- Well, you get my drift.

Oh, great, the advice lady is at it again. Sticking her nose in other people's business. Well, Miss MYOB, I'd say CF can think of about 10 BIG reasons plus a certain feral skill and imagination in putting them to use. If a woman appreciates my skill plus some deep seated affection when I have time, then how about you stay out of it?

If you treated her right, wolf boy, I wouldn't have to interfere. And since your 10 inches (snort) are probably only good for about 2 minutes, the other 23 hours and 58 minutes are important.

The thing that bugs me is I don't know what else I am part of(mom says I don't have an iota of human in me so you can imagine how easy it is being me....). All that stuff that mom highlighted on shapeshifters has me confused. The same rules don't apply to shapeshifting demons, do they?

What do I see in J? Well with his pack of misfits I don't have to fit in. See, I don't fit in with humans, nor with demons - Smith accepted me for me.......I think we are slowly learning to balance eachother out...besides I heard about some things you and McCabe went through before you both fell deeply and madly in love. You guys made it through some really tough relationship issues before arriving at marriage.

Anyhow, I need to get with you and McCabe and find out what possible branch I might have been sired from.

The only powers I have discovered since your disappearance is shape shifting and the ability to mentally shove someone away. I hope that I didn't complicate things by letting Necro bite me...

Actually Mika, give J a break he just made a huge step in admitting to deep seated affections...I actually am shocked Smith ... emotions aren't your thing. M careful with the snort...I am not the type of girl who would be addicted to ...erm...small and quick...he's not boasting all out of male pride ;-).

Hey! I didn't ask anyone to come into Orcus after me. If McCabe and Mika had minded their own business, neither one of them would have been in danger. I'm tired of everyone, even Alzbeta, giving me grief about this.

It's what I've said all long. Demons are freaking freaks. Ms.-I-can't-MYOB, come over some night and I'll show you what you've been missing. Nice smoke screen for your interference with Revenge Sex Hayes. I ever see that man, I'm gonna buy him a beer just to console is sorry ass over his choice of friends.

Pick a day and time and we'll talk about demons. The Moondance Diner has good food and good coffee, if you're interested.

Oh, CF, what do you think Conor and I are but a pair of misfits? Sure, I've got my family, but until recently, my dad was the only one who knew I was part demon. It's hard to fit in when you're busy hiding who you are. And Conor never had anyone except for Ben and me. We both understand the desire to be part of a group.

I have one last thing to say about wolf boy and then I won't say another word. You can do better. Every time you talk about him, I keep hearing Paula Abdul's song, "Cold-Hearted Snake." (My dad was a huge fan when I was a kid.) But you're an adult, and it's your decision. Just don't expect me to like it or him.

Marc,

We came after you because we're your friends--and if we hadn't, your ass would be toast right now. Alzbeta too. If you can't be grateful for our saving your life, maybe you can be grateful that we saved hers.

At 4/05/2006 06:10:00 PM, Blogger Crimson Fan said...

Marc don't start whining! I have had enough whining in my life the past couple of days I don't need to hear your sob story.

Had McCabe and Mika not felt you were a friend you're sorry human ass would have been toast.

It was a crazy plan and you're lucky you didn't get creamed.

M,
How about Saturday night. Elevenish...my night is just getting started at that time.
On J, don't expect you to like him and don't expect you to trust him. But then *smirk* you aren't sleeping with him so why should you worry. He defended me against an Alpha and continues to defend me against convert-whiner-weaner-doggy. Cold hearted-slightly, snake? No...he's simply a wolf ;-).

11pm at the Moondance Diner on Saturday night. Got it. To quote my dad when he's being silly--be there or be square. ;-)

What? I'm "simply a wolf"?? Oh, Red, babe, you wound me, you really do. I guess you'll have to make it up to me after I prove there's no simply anything about me. Unless you meant simply fabulous? Simply Necro?

Whiner dog can take care of herself mostly.I ignore her when she starts spouting off.

Woof.

Nec,
What, you want I should call you a snake?!

You might want to let whiner-yappy-dog know if she keeps threatening she will end up having to put her money where her mouth is.

Smith, you know you have brownie points to redeem so I say come collect them ;-).
